{"id":99,"date":"2020-08-25T15:49:19","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T15:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/explogen.com.ua\/blog\/?p=99"},"modified":"2020-08-25T15:49:19","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T15:49:19","slug":"the-unusual-streptomyces-ukrainascabiei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/explogen.com.ua\/blog\/2020\/08\/25\/the-unusual-streptomyces-ukrainascabiei\/","title":{"rendered":"The unusual Streptomyces ukrainascabiei."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For quite some time we were looking to isolate one of only a few known pathogenic to plant <em>Streptomyces <\/em>species &#8211; <em>Streptomyces scabiei<\/em>. Finally, by finding the scab-infected potato tubers on a local market we got 3 actinobacteria species, one of which was dominant. This strain, named <em>Streptomyces ukrainascabiei<\/em> EXG0031, is closely related, but still different from other known <em>Streptomyces scabiei<\/em>. However, unlike the related species, the <em>S. ukrainascabiei<\/em> is stimulating seeds germination and growth of radish sprouts. On the other hand, one of the minor isolates, <em>Streptomyces <\/em>sp. EXG0029 demonstrated a strong inhibition of radish germination.
